Is it really Nicotine addiction that causes it difficult to quit?I've heard so many people taking substitute product like nicotine gums, as they think that they are addicted to Nicotine, so that they need to maintain the availability of those nicotine in their blood.
My observation to this provide my own conclusion. it's not nicotine which is entering your blood which is causing the temptation ,in which when you are free from cigarette, your blood is so tempting to grab some nicotine. I'd rather think it's the habit that has become automatic, that has become a routines. you'd feel your morning mood is bad when you have no cigarette being sucked, or your lunch would taste plain withouth a puff. this kind of stuff.
So how did I quit?
1. Reason
You need to find out a real reason to quite, a major reason, it could be because of your health, family, or any other special reason2. Create a new habit
As I understand the temptation as habit rather than addiction so you must create a new habit those include .. avoiding those places or materials or even social friend that could make you return to smoking habit. for example if you tend to eat breakfast in a cafe where you used to smoke, you can now have breakfast at office kitchen.3. Keep it UP
When you are able to make new habit the next step is to make a consistent move, those include challenging your own self on those progression that you have made. Keeping it up also means that you need to encourage and remind yourself of the objective of you creating those new habit. those also includes effort o fool your mind, meaning to say, when you have a huge temptation to smoke, you should be able to negotiate with your mind so that you will not fall into 1 puff that will lead you to old habit. this effort also include self hypnosis, visualization or meditationThese are really the effort that i have taken in order to quit. and it's been 3rd year for me now enjoying better health as non smoker.
