I was working in a cigarette company, which is one of largest tobacco company in the world. so i'll share a bit of my experience in working with the company, hopefully the fact will provide you more understanding about the tobacco.
Tobacco Treatment
Let's start with Tobacco leave as the main component of cigarette. so Tobacco leaves which comes from farmers are being drought before then send to the factory to be manufactured. These dried leaves need to be handled carefully in the warehouse, why? as there are few risk related to the dried leaves, those includes fire, humidity, leakages, etc.
I will not discuss in detail about each of the risk on the tobacco warehouse, as those are not the focus of this article. what is important for those smokers are how the tobacco company handle those leaves when they found bugs on it? do you think they will try to filter those tobacco package by package? or clean up in a safe way for the sake of their customers? no man.. they will spray the insecticide or fumigate those leaves in order to get them clean from bugs. have you heard about this before? never right?
Taste - The Sauce
Let's get to the next level of the manufacturing process. those dried leaves will be chopped into smaller pieces before then cooked with a sauces. What is sauce? it's really a mixtures of those ingredient to make the tobacco product has different tastes, not just plain tobacco leave, but it has substances of chemical products.
Packaging
The next process after cooking is to wrap those cooked tobacco with the cigarette paper, before then glued with the filter. the paper, glue, and filter (those sponge-like component ) these are additional contributors to the chemical part of the tobacco.
So as you know that those anti-cigarette advertisement that you might have seen in hospital or any other places telling about hundreds of chemical contained in a cigarette product are correlated with those manufacturing process explained above. Hope this article provide more understanding about the dangerous of those ciggarette, so stop smoking as soon as you can
